Luckily, Beam Team co-founders Ben and Sam were able to buy back their publishing rights, and self-published the game for the PS4. The studio was initially going to publish the game under Telltale, which ultimately went bankrupt back in 2018. Stranded Deep was released earlier last year for the PS4, and is the first console title by the relatively small Australia-based studio Beam Team. Players can now do everything from building a shelter to punching sharks and even fly a plane together. Fortunately, Beam Team has answered those calls with this latest update. The fan community surrounding the game had been asking for a multiplayer mode ever since the game’s 2020 release.
